Trump on Kavanaugh, per pool: "It's a terrible thing that took place -- it's frankly a terrible thing that this information wasn’t given to us a long time ago, months ago when they got it, they could have done that instead of waiting till everything was finished and then scream."
More Trump, per pool: "Speaking for all of the Republicans, we feel we want to go through this process and we want to give everybody a chance to say what they have to say. So we have time available, we will delay the process till it's finished out."
In case anyone is confused, Trump is saying that the way this controversy erupted was the "terrible thing that took place," not the alleged incident was a terrible thing that took place.
