I'm about to drop the most incredulous thread .

What will be reaction if you went to church and a big secret you didn't even know you have is revealed by your pastor.

So 2 Sundays ago, during ministration, pastor called out this woman ( for privacy sake, I would call her Mary) and when she came out, he told her that she has been married and have been barren and she said it was true.

Then pastor continued,

When you were younger you became pregnant for a man that wanted to marry you, and when he abandoned you, you ran away, had the baby and abandoned it. And it was a baby girl.

Mary now in years was nodding her head and the whole church was in shock.

The pastor continued, now, you are successful and married and you have tried everything to have a child yet, no children yet. You've gone everywhere and it's because of children,that you've come here.

Mary continued nodding and crying.

The pastor : you live with a Young girl as a househelp, you took her from a woman that's an acquaintance of yours and you have been maltreating your househelp .if people look at her, they will know she is your househelp.

Mary, now in shock and with more tears continued nodding.

Pastor: that househelp is your daughter

Mary throws herself on the ground and started screaming.

Apparently, her daughter that she threw away, got into an orphanage and was adopted by a woman who later became Mary's friend, and when Mary needed a househelp, she convinced her friend to give her the orphan girl.

Mary have been living with her daughter, as a househelp, beating, starving, and emotionally scarring her teenage househelp , while crying unto the lord for a child.

There was no way she could know that the orphan that she maltreated was her own daughter.

Pastor: you have been feeling guilty, you want to find her but you don't know how to. You have been praying that God help you find your daughter you threw away and God sent her to you and you kept maltreating her. You , a Christian woman.

Mary is inconsolable now

Pastor: go home, apologize to her, start treating her well, but don't tell her ,she could run away. Investigate it, if what I've said is the truth, bring her to church with you.

Mary agreed, and went to sit down.

So, today, in walks Mary and her househelp. I guess she has investigated and found out the truth and have brought her.

So after ministration, which talked about God ordering ones footsteps, pastor calls Mary and her househelp out.

Pastor: young girl, I'm going to tell you something and God will give you the grace to forgive. You're an orphan and a househelp, people mock you, you don't know where you're from, everyone including your madam says you won't amount to anything.
But God have a plan for your life.

Pastor: he have ordered your step, the journey have been hard and it will need you to forgive the unforgivable. But I've been praying for you.

Now the pastor have his hand across her shoulder and talking to her as a father.

Pastor: that woman you hate , the woman who threw you away and put you in the orphanage is here today, she's in the congregation and she wants to apologize.

The girl is looking around with eyes full of surprise and holding her arms like she's cold and comforting herself.

Pastor: that woman is your madam. She's your mother, she maltreated you as a child and gave you away and then maltreated you as a househelp. But you have to forgive like Joseph

The girl turns quickly to look at her madam, moves 3 steps back and turns away, crying and saying no

The pastor continues, you have to forgive her, I know she has been bad to you, but things will change, I promise you, the work God will do in your life is amazing, you have to forgive.

Mary is sobbing and throws herself on her knees before her daughter and tries to touch her

But she moves away, shaking her head, saying no to the pastor talking about forgiveness, and rebuffing Mary's touch and plea.

By now, half the church is crying, including me.

The pastor lowers his microphone and starts talking to her, after a few minutes, she raises her mother from her knees and they both hug but they are both shaking because they can't control their sobbing.

The senior pastor in front stands up and leaves, he was crying so much.

The pastor asks them to go and sit down and says that he will see them after service. And this is the first step in a long reconciliation.

And am in my seat , watching the househelp, her hands on my face and still weeping and I wonder, can I forgive this if it was me ?
