1/ The Trump administration has (among other things) initiated withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, the INF treaty, the Universal Postal Union, and the 1955 Treaty of Amity w/ Iran, withdrawn from Iran deal, UNHRC & UNESCO, spurned NATO, G20, and UN,
2/ renegotiated NAFTA, started a global trade war, withdrawn from TPP, undermined WTO appellate body, halted TTIP negotiations, redirected US human rights law policy, & declared war on ICC.
3/ Remarkably, it has done these things w/o seeking Congress’s approval or permission. Trump was able to act unilaterally as a result of the presidency’s steady century-long accumulation of control, within the U.S. constitutional system, over international law and institutions.
