Effective today, “insurance” that doesn’t include coverage for the following events👇 will be eligible to count towards insurance— *and get subsidies that currently go to the ACA.

He waiver being used is a 1332 waiver which was put into the ACA to allow state flexibility (yes, Obama and Democrats believe in it too) to create innovative offerings so long as the number of ppl covered, affordability and comprehensiveness of coverage aren’t reduced. 3/
Eight waivers have been granted— all of which have reduced premiums and everyone has benefitted.
But Trump wants to give states more flexibility by reinterpreting the guidelines states have to follow. 4/

So Trump is changing the rules in a major way—

Since everybody has either had cancer or knows they can be touched by it, it’s not a surprise that Republicans who voted to repeal pre-ex protections are now pretending to support them.
