PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - No platform online racists. A thread
I am about to perform a public service. @JewishLabour is currently bombarded (as we do often) by tweets by some guy based in Durham. /1
This chap has a particular outlook on the world. Calls himself a 'journalist'. Stood to be an Independent Cllr in Durham. No connection as far as I am aware to the Labour Party. But he seems to have a particular gripe with the Leader of Durham County Council. /2
He was also arrested of placing a bounty on the heads of Councillors in Durham. He sounds lovely! /3
Now the Leader of Durham County Council I do not know. But I know he is from Jewish heritage.
This chap Mr Lindsay is clearly an antisemite. Take this blog. Describing Jews are "vermin" and an "infestation" Also wants the Leader to be investigated due to "links with Israel". /4
He hates Israel though. So of course he is just an anti-Zionist...
But don't worry - he likes some Jews. Such as @JVoiceLabour. /5
And the Enough is Enough rally was mostly made of up staff from the Israeli embassy... Jeez... How many people do they employ?
Also apparently the counter demo by @JVoiceLabour apparently had more Jews who held only British nationality...🙃 /6
He also seems a bit fond of writing into the 'Weekly Worker' (Greenstein's fav rag)... Where he tells readers of how he "yearns" for Jeremy Corbyn to be Prime Minister. No issue with that - other than wondering why the hell would someone with his politics be drawn to Labour? /7
And there is loads more to this stuff. Now the reason why this is a public service broadcast is because 43 accounts that I follow also follow this chap #DavidASLindsay. And I want to warn those 43 followers that they should no unfollow this antisemite. He has 3221 followers. /8
I will be direct messaging all those followers to unfollow this chap.
No platform the online antisemites.

I believe that this threshold as set out in the definition has been met in the case of the Labour Party on antisemitism. Does any of the below appear to be 'normal behavior within an organisation'? /2

Zionism (I.e the collective ENDEAVOUR of the Jewish people for statehood) long preceded 1948.
Zionism was born out of centuries of primarily European racism. It was not solely the product of the Holocaust. (Read Hertzl). /2
To describe this ENDEAVOUR (I.e the creation of a Jewish state in Israel) as racist denies the Jewish people the right to national self determination. /3

People basing real decisions, at real jobs- both public & private sector-on false information. We have the most powerful military, biggest Economy, in the most industrialized nation in the world making Domestic & Foreign Policy based on fasle information.
This can & will end only one of two ways. Either we reverse course before catastrophic consequence or we experience what could be the most catastrophic multi-national event that has occurred since WW2 & the most grave consequences since our Nation's inception nearly 300 yrs ago.
