Whoopsie!
Here it is on the Texas Secretary of State website, with the total vote circled. They’re showing the Democrat on top with all the precincts in, even though the race was called for the Republican incumbent hours ago. enrpages.sos.state.tx.us/public/nov06_3…
How do we wake up @GinaOrtizJones?
The TX SOS precincts reported percentage has declined from 100% to 99.91% in the last couple minutes.
So @PatrickSvitek and @TXElects attributed the TX-23 uncertainty to Medina County, and sure enough the TX SOS website updated a few minutes ago to reduce the number of precincts reported from 8/8 to 7/8 without changing the county vote totals.
This was maybe 15-20 minutes after the change to the number and percentage of precincts reported on the main general election page; someone is changing the precinct counts on each page by hand, I’d guess.
And now it’s back to 8/8 again with no change to the vote totals so idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The main election page now shows Hurd back in the lead by about 700 votes. No update to Medina County vote totals, yet.
Main page updates: Hurd gains 2,276 votes and Ortiz Jones gains 1,305.

Reporters: These updates adding votes are from the solution to a problem in Medina Cty.

Medina Cty page updates (so far): no change in vote totals.

TX SOS not winning high marks for transparency from me
I waited as long as I could but they still haven’t changed the vote totals in Medina county. The TX Secretary of State’s website is not consistent with this account.
TX SOS added approx 3600 new votes to their summary page that reversed the lead in the race, told reporters the new votes are from Medina County, and yet no new votes appear on their own Medina County page. So where did the 3600 votes come from and are their tabulations reliable?
