Highlights of @PoliceNG_PCRRU report from January - June 2018:

The Unit resolved 750 complaints out of 884 received from which 2 officers were dismissed & 2 others demoted for corruption and extortion.

The report shows 13.29% reduction of complaints against Police.

Distribution of complaints against @PoliceNG by States & Zones from January to June 2018:

▪ South-West: 309
▪ South-South: 232
▪ South-East: 143
▪ FCT Abuja: 109
▪ North-Central: 42
▪ North-East: 16
▪ North-West: 15

Lagos top the list of States with highest complaints.

Categories of complaints received against Police:

▪ Cases of professional misconduct: 398
▪ Cases of demanding money for bail: 269
▪ Cases of excessive use of force: 197
▪ Benefits/entitlement cases: 10
▪ Traffic cases: 6
▪ Police Incivility: 2
▪ Civil matters: 2

@PoliceNG_PCRRU performance in 1st half year of 2018:

▪ Total complaints received: 884
▪ Cases resolved: 750
▪ False cases reported: 10
▪ Pending cases: 124

The Unit has resolved 85% of cases reported against Police officers by citizens, leaving 14% yet to be resolved.

Analysis of @PoliceNG_PCRRU reports of 1st half of 2017 and 2018:

The reports show 13.29% reduction in complaints against Police in 1st half of 2018 (Jan - June) when compared with 1st half of 2017.

There is significant decrease in no. of false complaints against the Police.
