While MPs voting - just to reiterate Labour *Conference* position: deal must ensure "participation" in Single Market 1/3; no confidence motion should happen when deal is defeated...
2/3 if no election possible, labour should "support" (NB not "keep") all options on table including 2nd referendum...
3/ ppl don't realise Lab Party position is to be *inside* single market: also that support for PV is *mandated* if no GE called and if Norway+ does not meet "red lines" - read the words: google.co.uk/amp/s/labourli…
4/ however Shadow Cabinet can hold off No Conf motion until deal is defeated - and I think that is preferable unless she clearly signals no vote at all. We should know by Monday.

Okay so I've been modelling the "indicative votes" route in Parliament supported by Rudd, Lidington etc... 1/ To model "every conceivable" option you have to model Labour's; let's call it Norway-minus...
2/ Suppose you ask MPs to pick ONLY their most favoured option. My guess is 60 Tories go for No Deal; 140 for Canada FTA; the rest split 55:60 for Norway Plus and PV...
3/ 10x DUP support Canada; 39 SNP/PC support Norway Plus; 1x Green supports PV; Libdems support PV

To claim another is "voting against their interests" is the most asinine claim to make.

Most assuredly, the issuer has zero idea what the other individuals interests actually are.

BREAKING: Labour motion agreed. It’s not absolutely everything we wanted - but it’s close!

Lots of good things:
- Labour will vote AGAINST any deal that fails to meet the 6 tests in full
1/
- labour will not accept No Deal (so that means McCluskey’s bonkers idea of a ref between Tories’ Deal and No Deal is off the table)
- full participation in single market (not sure if that means IN single market but sounds pretty damn close)
2/
- no hard border in Ireland (there was a bit about “for goods, services or people” at one stage but that seems to have been removed)
- vote down May’s deal, call vote of no confidence and then GE (highly unlikely labour can force this because if Fixed Term Parliament Act)

(Thread) To all @UKLabour candidates in the upcoming May local elections:

Unfortunately I will not be able to vote for you as a representative of the Labour Party; this is despite having been a #Labour voter myself in the past. Please allow me to explain briefly my reasons why.
After the sacking of Owen Smith, I cannot vote for @UKLabour in any shape or form at the moment due to Jeremy Corybn's approach towards #Brexit which I view as highly undemocratic and contradictory to what the Labour party is meant to stand for ("for the many, not the few"?).
The attitude towards #Brexit by @jeremycorbyn and other hardcore Brexiteers like him really is now bordering on the fascist, something I find deeply disturbing. It seems that dissenters are being crushed.
