Afraid to say this proves a point I have been making for a while - the UK’s human rights orgs just don’t see antismetism as a priority. It isn’t even on their radars.
I searched for statements about antisemitism from the UK’s human rights orgs which focussed on helping victims and I think I found one in the past 3 years, which was a single tweet from the Equality and Human Rights Commission
I don't think it's anything pernicious - perhaps it's cos they see the issue as too 'political' or don't want to wade into the Israel-Palestine aspects (as they might see it). Or because (as with Liberty?) the orgs' members are very left wing. Also Shami.
It's not really good enough as if the human rights organisations aren't going to do anything then it leaves the Jewish community effectively standing up for itself as a minority, and predictably accused of special pleading. A little solidarity goes a long way.
The strange thing is human rights declarations and laws were written basically with the Holocaust in mind. Jewish people (e.g. Lauterpacht, Lemkin, Cassin) very influential. If you read the Universal Declaration it is a kind of negative image of the Nazi restrictions on Jews..
And yet, some human rights advocates don't think Jewish people are a human rights priority. Perhaps because of the addition of an (IMO problematic) oppressed/oppressor lens. As I said, I don't think it's deliberate - but there is something odd about the myopia.
