Turkish hostility towards Kurds can not be explained with PKK or YPG or other Kurdish freedom fighters. It goes back to Ataturk' plan of building nation state for Turks only. He tried to create it with Turkish minority and the Kurds were only nation/people who would not accept it
When Ataturk launched his racist Turkish nation state plan, Kurds have opposed this anti-democratic dictatorship and he started to deny Kurdish existence after S.Said rebellion (1925). Ottoman was not Turkish only but mix of all nations in Balkans, Caucasus, Mid east and Anatolia
Turks were minority in Anatolia, as Ataturk himself is not Turkish just as Hitler not having German blood. He called himself the god of new nation and oppressed all non Turkish muslim and non-muslim minorities. Muslim minorities accepted to convert by force by Kurds were natives.
Kurd had their autonomous regions or they had self governing bodies in their own towns before Ottomans and after they have cooperated with Ottomans against Safavids in 1512. Each Kurdish prince was governing his own territory in Kurdistan as a part of Ottoman empire #Twitterkurds
Ataturk had planned 3 major attacks on Kurds.

1- Sheikh Said (1925)
2- Ararat mountain (Ararat/Agiri Republic of Kurdistan)
3- Dersim (Kurdish Alevi genocide)

He received help from France, Iran, Russia, Britain and Arap regimes to defeat Kurds.
