The same people who say "nuclear is too expensive" are the ones who have been fighting tooth and nail for various subsidies, R&D funding, and renewable portfolio standards for wind and solar for DECADES
It's almost like people understand the value of supporting a technology that has explicit benefits beyond just paying the lowest price... but they are only willing to extend that argument to wind & solar.

It's ok to fight for R&D funding and subsudies for future and developing energy technologies!!! But if you're only willing to do that for some clean energy technologies and not for others, be explicit about it and be truthful about your reasons.
