NHS Blood and Transplant has cancelled 6 blood donor sessions in Dover and Folkstone during a period running from 2 weeks before Brexit Day until 6 weeks after, citing the possibility of no deal transport disruption due to Operation Stack.

Note that this story may be magically retracted soon, because some reports are coming out that the Government is steaming mad that they've released this unhelpful news now. So presumably somebody in the Department of Health will get on the phone and uncancel the sessions.

Next time you're about to argue on Twitter, check the profile of the person you're responding to first. There's a huge chance they're a bot (established profile, huge number of tweets, very low follower count)... If so, don't reply - BLOCK!
If you engage instead of blocking then:
A) You're wasting your time. Guaranteed.
B) You're legitimising their contribution in the eyes of someone coming to the thread later.
Note: some bots are human. They're not sophisticated AI. But they're being paid to hammer home a specific point of view. Much like click farms, there are also comment farms: rooms stuffed with people stirring up trouble as a living, often in cheap offshore jurisdictions.

The Government claims to be doing a lot of things to prepare for Brexit (and has £4.2 billion to spaff around). But as Brexit Day gets closer, it's more and more clear its core plan consists of *telling others* (supermarkets, pharmaceutical firms etc.) to stockpile.
For instance, in a written answer a couple of days ago, the Government admitted it has not itself purchased *any* medicines as a Brexit contingency.

In other words, when things go wrong they'll sit back and say "Nothing to do with us - we told them to be ready!"
If that's the case, where's the money going? Most of it is likely to be vanishing into salaries and overheads, given there are over 10,000 civil servants working exclusively on Brexit. And then there's ferry contracts, feasibility studies for a Galileo replacement, etc.

If there's no Brexit deal, you are likely to have to carry a green card to prove you have car insurance when driving in EU and EEA countries. You may also need a second separate green card if you're towing a trailer.

There may yet be a Brexit deal, of course, or a mini-deal might be agreed to remove the need for green cards. But as things stand today, you *will* need to carry them after Brexit Day. Something to think about as you're planning your spring getaway or summer holidays.
The Department of Transport estimates that there will be between 2 and 4 million vehicles affected by this new requirement each year, after we leave the EU. That's unique vehicles (the number of journeys is likely to be higher).

Jeremy Corbyn's true purpose in calling a general election is to secure not just brexit but hard #Brexit this election can only happen if mays deal is voted down and therefore the default becomes no deal
Any general election would dissolve Parliament and therefore make any steps to avoid no deal #Brexit impossible for most of the remaining time to brexit day . Jeremy corbyn is aware of this
Corbyn said on Marr he would submit a no confidence vote at a time of his choosing but soon. Corbyns intention is to table it so that any general election is held so close to brexit day no government will be able to halt no deal

1. The no deal #Brexit advocates are in full spin mode. They say we can trade on WTO terms alone. So anybody with a clue asks them about aviation and nuclear sectors etc where they mutter something about bilateral deals. That's an admission that we cannot trade on WTO rules alone
2. They then pretend we can have an amicable negotiated exit to WTO rules. We can't. This would be a package with all the bilaterals covering aviation and nuclear - there bare minimum to avoid civil emergencies. It would not include any mutual recognition on anything.
3. There is no way the EU would sign such an agreement without the existing agreements on citizens rights, the financial settlement and the NI backstop. There is no rowing back from that. The government would have to agree or there is no deal.

Albeit largely technical, agencies will have huge implications on Brexit.

Five points stand out in particular:
First, Agencies matter. Like the customs union, they are a technical aspect of the EU, that works and was thus hardly discussed in the UK before #Brexit.
But they are important for single market, but also justice and home affairs.

UK gov thus has already asked to continue participation in selected agencies, in particular in sectors important to the UK economy, like aviation, chemicals or pharma.

1/ Today's devolved #NHS is a complex federation of tens of 000s of orgs employing some 1.7m workers. It's combined annual budget is just shy of £150bn. It handles, overwhelmingly successfully, almost a million patients daily.

With each box maybe 000s of orgs, & England only:
2/ Unresolved public health issues & a fast-expanding multi-morbid elderly population, coupled with chronic underfunding & the blowback from the butchery of social care since 2010 means the #NHS is pressured as never before.
