It's harsh and "extreme" to describe abortion advocates on this radical end of the spectrum as a death cult, but it's also accurate. Atrocities like this go far beyond any rational standard of medical necessity, or even individual autonomy.
Abortion is only pushed this hard by religious fanatics. Their religion is the Church of the State. They pay homage to it by celebrating the State's power to kill and claiming a bit of that glory for themselves. We do as our god does, therefore we hold a spark of its divinity.
It's also an icy expression of the extreme materialism at the heart of all collectivist politics. The babies can't vote, therefore they are not truly people; they have no political power so they enjoy no rights.
Abortion extremism celebrates the triumph of the grim, materialist present over the fragile possibilities of the future. Power flows from the barrel of a gun... or the blade of a scalpel. The living assert dominance over those yet unborn.
Left-wing philosophy constantly preaches the importance of defying and destroying tradition (except those the Left imposes, of course) to shrug off the dead hand of the past. No wonder it also sacralizes shrugging off the ethereal hand of the future.
Abortion extremism confirms the Left's gloomy image of the human race as a planet-destroying virus. People are problems the State must deal with, so fewer people means fewer problems. The future is so dark that death in the womb is preferable to living in it.
On the grubbiest political level, abortion extremism is a con job: a largely hypothetical "freedom to choose" ostentatiously offered by those who would take away most other freedoms if they could.
Abortion extremism is adjacent to sexual libertinism, which is another con job: a loud celebration of "sexual freedom" as an opiate for people whose lives will be tightly controlled in every other way. Sex without consequence is traded for life without sovereignty.
Shouldn't we have learned by now that real freedom is inseparable from consequences and responsibility? If you are not responsible for your actions - especially the most profound action of all, the creation of a new life - then you are not free. Your dignity has been stolen.
What happens to a society that loses its appreciation for responsibility, consequence, and human dignity? It loses its ability to value freedom as well. It's like currency devaluation leading to bread that costs a million dollars per loaf.
Lastly, abortion extremism is entwined with the Left's complex and deeply dishonest philosophy toward men. Abortion seduces men by removing the consequences of promiscuity, but also degrades them by cutting them out of the life-giving process.
This leaves us with the absurd belief that only women can get pregnant. Of course only women can carry the child and give birth, but the man should be seen as a full partner in the pregnancy and held responsible as such. Denying that truth drives a society insane.
Abortion, especially these disgusting extreme abortion bills, is not "empowering." It demeans men and women alike by taking responsibility and dignity away from the man and dumping everything on the woman. It demeans us all again by forcing us to accept late-term horrors.
You want to talk about "toxic masculinity?" Let's talk about men who think they can do as they please with women and dump them off at the abortion clinic to clean up unwanted complications. Let's talk about a society that defines maleness as completely divorced from pregnancy.
Abortion extremism is part of the political crusade to eradicate all differences between the sexes. The final horror of a baby killed heartbeats from delivery is a brutal assertion of political power over biological reality. Life itself is not only taken but redefined. /end
