Okay, this is kinda hilarious. But it’s not going to remain hilarious. Anti-vaxxers, let me tell you where this is going...
A kid is going to die from measles. Probably a baby. It might not be an anti-vaxxer’s baby. It may well be one of your neighbors.

Because one of the reasons to vaccinate is to protect those who are too young to be vaccinated. If there’s no measles “going around,” they’re safe.
So here’s where you’ll be: Your kid will have the measles, and then the baby next door will die. And in a very real way, this will be your fault, because it was preventable.

Some of you won’t care. Some of you.... really really will.
It’s going to be bad. And it’s, like, definitely going to happen.

Ohmygod. Arguing with a conservative can be like having sex with someone who is really bad at sex. Everything is a clumsy and halfhearted bridge between the one or two things they actually know how to do. (1/x)
I mean, what’s the point of carefully constructing an argument when you know that all they’re looking for is a pathway to shouting “Venezuela!” or “Benghazi!” or “Eventually you run out of other people’s money!”
It’s those damn platitudes. Like some past-it preacher who’s basically reading news clippings on his way to that quote from Ephesians that everybody likes. And then collect some nods and applause and congratulations - it’s another Sunday in the books, Pastor Kevin!

Highly #contagious - 90% of susceptible (i.e. non-vaccinated) persons will become ill if exposed

- Fever
- 3 C's (cough, conjunctivitis, coryza)
- #Koplik spots
- Rash (starts on face & spreads downward)

Ear infxn (1 in 10) - can cause hearing loss
Pneumonia (1 in 20) - most common cause of death
Encephalitis (1 in 1000)
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (4-11 in 100,000)

1-2 in 1,000 will die

Measles cases hit record high in the Europe

Over 41,000 children & adults in European region have been
infected w/#measles in the first 6 mos, 2018 -- far exceeds the 12-mo totals reported for every other year this decade. 37 dead.

Between July2017 & June2018 just under 1000 cases of #measles in Britain, vs 531 cases for the whole of 2016.
There have been 760 cases in the 1st 6 mos of 2018 in the UK, versus 187 in the last half of 2017.

The first character we hear from is Ebony Maw, who gives a chilling opening speech:

The UK has taken the lead in efforts for EU enlargement. It pushed for the inclusion of Eastern European states. It pushed for Turkey to get its shit together so that it could join (which it made very slow progress with, and has largely been undone by Erdogan)
After #Brexit, the UK will have no influence on EU enlargement. In fact, as setting the EU as a rival, every country that joins the EU will a) strengthen the EU, and b) unravels any trade deals that the UK will have made with that country, isolating it further.
