The State of Our Union....depends on which floor you work on. If you’re on the top floor, your view of America is sunny. The GOP tax cuts make you richer, you likely aren’t in the quicksand of student debt, & you won’t go broke if you get sick. #SOTU thread (1 of 3)
But if you work below the top floor, the State of Our Union is cloudy. You likely live paycheck to paycheck. One emergency could wipe you out. And You’d love to be in the stock market, but w/o a raise you’re having a hard time saving. #SOTU thread (2 of 3)
Everyone who works hard should be able to not only get by, but do better and get ahead. That’s not anti-American. Or anti-capitalism. It’s the promise of America. The State of Our Union should be sunny. And not just from the top floor. #SOTU thread (end)
