1. #GOP leadership must quit pushing the talking point that Russia's attack on the 2016 election didn't actually impact the election results - there is no basis for that statement. That misrepresentation may serve the GOP and DT's ego, but it does NOT serve the American people.
2. If the people of this country are to prepare themselves for additional foreign attacks and protect themselves from these nefarious actors, then they must fully understand the extent and impact of Russia's cyber-espionage and assault on our democracy.
3. Further, as the indictments and trials from Mueller's probe ensue, the role the #GOP played in aiding and abetting this attack will unfold. Now, is the time to begin righting these wrongs, not self-servingly watering down the impact and fleeing accountability.
4. This was not just a matter of the Russians hacking and releasing personal communications, nor was it just a matter of disseminating harmful propaganda and 'fake-news' via social media. This was a complex and diverse tactical operation that was SUCCESSFUL.
5. The goal of this operation was to secure the presidency of Donald Trump with the idea that Trump would produce policy that would benefit the Russian Federation - which is EXACTLY what has happened and continues to happen in plain sight, in real time.
6. Hacking and releasing private communications primarily served to sow discord within the Left and suppress voter turnout. But, they did much more than that. They hacked into state voter rolls, election systems. They obtained the DNC's field operations, voter data and analytics.
7. They had in their hands the strategy of the opposition and information on voters down to the individual level. Think about that. They utilized this information to micro-target key voters in key districts - and, clearly, they didn't do it without the help of Americans.
8. The WH can cry 'no collusion' all they want, but the shoes are dropping and the actual crimes of conspiracy against the United State are fully in play. The charges imply a coup against democracy with the help of members of the GOP and Trump campaign.
9. Back-channels, infiltration of right-wing organizations and clandestine meetings are all emerging under the scrutiny of our judicial system - as it should. This is how checks and balances are supposed to work - how are freedoms are protected from tyranny.
10. Congress is part of that system, but #GOP legislators are too busy either protecting their own criminal action or putting their agenda over our nation. Do not minimize the national security crisis we are experiencing. Do not obstruct our right to justice. Do Your Job!
