This is the second time this is happening and I feel for the sake of thousands of women using @Uber_India everyday it is important that I share this. I booked a cab from IGI Airport at 11:20 pm. Got confirmation that ‘Imrom’ is arriving in a White dezire. (1)

As a woman constantly on the move I have learnt to be alert and when I boarded the cab I noticed this guy was much younger than the @Uber_India picture. I asked him his name and he said ‘Amit’. I asked whose cab was he driving and he said ‘my uncle’s’. (2)

I asked him the ‘uncle’s’ name and he couldn’t tell. “It is in the app be said”. When I pushed he gave me a vague name that was certainly not ‘Imrom’ as claimed by the @Uber_India app that I was relying on. (3)

I asked him to show me his driving license and his name turned out to be ‘Mohd. Irshad’. Now that is nowhere close to ‘Amit’ so I could not have possibly made a mistake. I am sitting in the same cab as I write this but this is not about me. (4)

If this guy commits a crime with a person/rider, man or woman, how will @Uber_India know or track him ? Will they look for Amit, Imrom, Mohd. Irshad or his uncle? Can you imagine how many women traveling use @Uber_Delhi ‘s cabs everyday ? Think how dangerous this is ! (5)

I am expecting an answer from @Uber_India @Uber @Uber_Delhi ASAP. Attaching a screenshot of my ride confirmation as well as a picture of the driver’s license. Have blurred some details coz I am not targeting individuals but the buggers at Über who are putting citizens at risk (6)

Hope @DelhiPolice wakes up and take notice of what is happening right under their nose. @Uber_India @Uber_Delhi have zero control over their operations and this incident just proves that. (7)

No response or action by @Uber_India @Uber_Support @Uber_Delhi yet !

Worse... @DelhiPolice is yet to wake up.

Update:@Uber_India called & tried to tell me what I 'could do' if this happens. I politley told them that I knew exactly what I could have done,don't need their education. The onus is on them to tell us what will they be doing to prevent this in future. Will keep y'all posted.

Update: Recd email from @Uber_India @Uber_Support again telling me what I should do if the same thing happens. Also if I choose to take this up legally, they have a dedicated legal team to handle it. THAT’S IT. Nothing about what they plan to do for their passenger’s safety. (10)

Lawyer friends please suggest what should be done. Also please RT/share this as much as you can. I am not going to rest till the time @Uber_India tells me what they plan to do to ensure the safety of their riders, especially women. (11)

@rajnathsingh Ji @nitin_gadkari Ji how can this be allowed? @Uber_India is earning millions from our country while putting its riders at risk everyday because of their callous attitude and zero accountability. Are we ready to let this continue ? (12)
