It includes fair remuneration of authors for the first time as a principle in European copyright law.

Users will continue to be able to share content on social media & link to sites & newspapers.

The Parliament should maintain neutrality in its communication until the final version of the #copyright directive is adopted. The video not only creates the impression that the directive has already been agreed, there are several factual mistakes and problematic aspects:

The amendment includes permitted uses of orphan works, indirect liability for facilitating access to infringing communication to the public, content blocking injunctions, user identification provisions, exclusion from statutory damages and new criminal prohibitions
Orphan works: a use of an orphan work will be permitted if after due efforts the copyright owner was not found. If for commercial purposes, fair compensation will be due if owner so requires.

Myth 1: YT paye des licences, notamment pour montrer qu’ils sont gentils et qu’il n’y a pas besoin de les réguler, mais uniquement quand ils en ont envie, au lance-pierre et en imposant leurs conditions. Donc oui, YT peut atteindre les 5 milliards de $ (en 12 ans)...
...mais ils oublient de dire que si on compare à Spotify (qui a l’obligation de passer des licences avec tous ses artistes) qui a 7 fois moins d’utilisateurs que YT, bah Spotify paye 20 fois plus les artistes par utilisateur, soit 11,5 milliards de $ (en 10 ans)... #Oups

2/ Some bought by gormless companies, by mistake, some in full knowledge or partial knowledge of what it could do. It will be interesting as time goes on to see who apparently DIDN'T CARE about the likely instigation of its more negative 'dark' capabilities looking to 'side-step'
3/ or even 'wrong-foot' Irish & EU regulation standards, & possibly law. This too is a kind of #climatechange & #ClimateAction in itself, a would be mammoth untouchable iceberg of 'dominion' & 'control' being melted out into an ocean of citizens' scrutiny & advancement for change
