Judge Jackson rules that Manafort lied about his contacts with Kilimnik and other matters.
Jackson's ruling is a big deal. She lent the court's weight to a major Mueller contention: Manafort lied to hide his contacts while running Trump's campaign with a suspected Russian agent. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
Manafort gave polling data to a suspected Russian proxy and at the same meeting discussed a plan that to lift US sanctions on Russia. He concealed that activity, which sounds like what most people would define as collusion, from prosecutors in hopes Trump will pardon him.

Jackson in this hearing and the last one, was clearly irked by Downing's effort to cite his cross-examination of Gates' and the comments one juror made. Jackson scolded Downing, noting he incorrectly described a news report and that it's not evidence anyway.
Downing comes off really badly in these breach hearings. At the Feb. 4 hearing he said prosecutors' argument that Manafort lied about conversations about sanctions on Russia was "nonsense because no matter who gets elected...the sanctions were going to continue."
Downing couldn't be more wrong about about this. During his campaign, in response to a question from Maria Butina, of all people, Trump suggested he'd be willing to lift sanctions on Russia. motherjones.com/politics/2018/… … After he won, he tried to do so. nbcnews.com/politics/white…

The Senate Intelligence Committee never interviewed Manafort, Gates or Kilimnik about the contacts that represent the most compelling evidence to date of Trump-Russia coordination. Burr doesn’t have special insight here, despite chairmanship. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
The Intelligence Committee agreed to limit the scope July 25, 2017 interview of Manafort to questions about the Trump Tower meeting. They never interviewed him about Kilimnik, the peace plan, Rusisan sanctions etc. And they never subpoenaed him to try to compel more corporation.

Warner didn't discuss committee findings, but said the public record is damning: "The president’s campaign manager was sharing internal campaign documents with the Russians in advance of the release of information (by Russia) that interfered massively" with the election.

1. Note the date: the confidential files with evidence were leaked in October 2018.
2. The Twitter account has been removed. It's old news. There is nothing discrediting to Mueller's investigation in the fact that the Russians stole the files. If anything, it confirms that, yes, Russians hack.

#Manafort charging document for today's guilty plea includes details of his planting disinformation in US press to smear political rivals of his pro-Russia clients in Ukraine. Eg "Plant some stink on Tymo"—painting a female rival as a criminal who paid for murder. Sound familiar?
Manafort had used the same propaganda smear tactics in Ukraine that Trump rolled out in his campaign for president in 2016. Manafort not only had Tymo soliciting murder. He pushed tribal divisions, using "Obama Jews" & anti-Semitism to tarnish her. assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4883…
