Hey Universe. I’ve got hair and nail appointments scheduled today. My gowns are somewhere between their fashion houses and my porch. I leave tomorrow. And it’s snowing outside.

I need us to get on the same page.

UPDATE: My taxes ensured that the roads were clear enough despite several inches of snow. Hair and nails are done. I’ve got a LITTLE more time on the dresses. Strategizing Plan B on that front.
I leave today and won’t be back home until after the Oscars. Not LA just yet, gotta make an overnight stop in NYC. But the packing for the Oscars begins now. 😳 Wheels up in less than six hours. No, still no gowns.
UPDATE: Gown secured.
It’s time to pack.

I was pushing it today, but I’m at the gate and they haven’t started boarding yet. Look at God!

My hair set off the TSA sensors tho. 😳

Let me tell you how the Universe works in my life. I didn’t realize that my Speakers Bureau needed me to stay TWO nights in Columbus. So I had to change my flight to give me an extra day. It’s @SouthwestAir tho, so no big deal. Decided to get the Business Select flight. #thread
A bit more money, but I have Travel Funds to burn, so no biggie. Plus it gives me ALL the flexibility to change flights. I get the notice that my flight has been delayed. Twice. Okay, cool. I push my lunch date in DC back an hour. I get to the airport, and walk past a counter...
That flight is for a later one going to BWI, not DCA where I’m going. The Universe brought it to my attention though. Whatever. I get to my gate and my flight is all the way cancelled. Welp. It happens. I immediately get on the phone instead of standing in line (I hate lines).

I gotta be at the convention center at 8am for sound check for a speech I'm not giving until 3pm.

Make it make sense.
Imma be late and not even on purpose.
And the joke’s on the sound check person. At this hour of the morning, I’m serving Eartha Kitt realness with a dash of Pee Wee Herman. All of my levels are going to be off for mid afternoon. 🤷🏾‍♀️

hey infant, wanna talk about subculture media and how academics don't get what the fuzz is all about? i've been thinking about how writers and thinkers rarely emphasize how they are filled with young people who want to find their own identity against the more hegemonic narratives
unlike western subcultures which are more countercultures and political movements (punk rock, reggae, and glam rock), japanese subcultures are happy to be the endless rebel providing new avenues for a new kind of culture; they don't want to be part of the main or high cultures
thus many academics like azuma glamorize the extreme self-indulgence found in otaku fans: they focus on the mass consumption aspects and caricature them as "database animals", those creatures of nihilism who eat data forever because collecting cute girls is all they do

But that's not what I'm going to talk about in this thread. I'm going to ask: Is your game about your PLAYERS or their CHARACTERS? No wrong answer.
Both answers get at different styles, but if you only ever learn one thing from all the stuff I say, it should be this: Be mindful about your choices! Pick a strategy because that's a fully informed choice you made, not just because that's the way you've always done it.

#Today's story to #EndFamilySeparation Four months ago, Dad and 4-month-old entered at the Texas/Mexico border and requested #asylum. Dad and child were immediately separated and the baby put in ORR custody. #FamiliesBelongTogether
Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
