We’ve had a couple of mildly abusive DMs from Remainer dudes saying our campaign is shite cos we’ve put overly optimistic Brexiter quotes in Leave areas and the people there will take them at face value. This is something we thought about a lot when we launched.
(A short thread):

If you stick up a Gove ‘we hold all the cards’ in Romford are passersby going to think “Yeah, right, we totally do”? We credited the public with more insight and intelligence than that, and justifiably so.

Our crew has actually been out in Leave areas asking ppl what they think of the posters (cheapo @ByDonkeys focus grouping). The Brexit fantasy posters aren’t misconstrued. What *is* true is that they don’t have as much impact as a Farage '52-48' or a mega ‘Grayling vs Grayling’

Of the 158 posters we’ve put up so far, around 10 were optimistic fantasies sited in Leave towns. The reason we don’t really post those ones anymore is not cos they're misunderstood (they’re not) but cos we found some of the others are just more engaging for the public

(BTW the reason the mega-thread only has 91 of the 158 posters on it is cos it’s a fiddly job and every time it’s about to happen the baby throws up or ingests something she wasn’t meant to and the job’s abandoned again)

Oh, another dude let us know we’re shite cos Twitter is a bubble and we’re not reaching anyone new. FWIW we haven’t been posting all the news coverage but there’s been a fair bit of it. And we’ve had 45 million Twitter impressions in 7 weeks and they're not all in the bubble.
