I am sure that most leavers when they voted Leave had clear reasons to do so.

They wanted to send a message to a gov. of austerity. They thought it might do good. It did not.

They were worried for the NHS & thought that leaving the EU would increase funding. It won’t.

Leavers voting leave might have thought that immigration was a problem for the country, or was depressing their wages. It isn’t. Immigration is a good.

They may have thought that the EU was anti-democratic. It isn’t but it can do better.

2/n
Leavers voting leave may have been swayed by arguments about sovereignty, about how the EU prevents us being an independent nation. It doesn’t do that. We are part of the EU and we are sovereign. We share some decision-making with our partners when it makes sense.

3/n
Leavers voting leave may have been persuaded by the argument that the EU makes much of our law & they tell us what to do. We are part of the EU. The UK disagreed with a truly tiny number and proportion of pieces of legislation coming from the EU.

Perhaps leavers voting leave were persuaded by the many articles published in newspapers over years purporting to describe ‘bananas’ law coming from the EU, restricting our sovereignty. Lies and lies and lies. The EU set up a website to try and counter these false claims.

5/n
Perhaps economic arguments helped to persuade some leavers that it was right to leave the EU.

Well time has passed and this has been thoroughly debunked. We were all lied to about the ease of making new deals and the new opportunities for global Britain.

6/n
Did Leavers voting leave know how many citizens of the EU27 staff our NHS in important positions as doctors and nurses? Did they consider that many might leave; that the Leave vote would create a hostile environment for them? I think not. But it has.

7/n
How many leavers voting leave were convinced that the UK was going to be swamped by immigrants from Turkey or Syria? How many were worried because of their difference or that it would affect their jobs or housing? That didn’t happen & it won’t. Again, immigration is a good.

8/n
Life is short and time is running out. There were many reasons to vote leave. Most have been shown to be misguided or even false, the stories of liars & crooks. So why leave? What is the point? Should we hang on to an idea that was based on misunderstandings or lies? No.

Let’s ask ourselves, in the form of a popular vote, ‘Do we want to do this? Is this good for the UK? Is it good for my family & friends?’ We need to extend article 50.

What if that isn’t possible? Then on 28th of March Mrs May should be instructed to revoke article 50.
