1/So let's discuss what a normal POTUS would be doing to address the border crisis - convening Oval Office mtgs with Congressional leaders, sending his Sec of State to the region for talks, working with regional orgs like OAS to craft regional approaches.
2/Instead of working towards a solution the President and his team have chosen, it appears, to double down on a strategy we already know hasn't worked either politically or from a policy perspective - "harsher, hard line" policies, whatever that could be.
3/Fundamental issue for Trump now is that the stuff he wants - changes in US law - require Dem votes, and Dems will ask for something in return - legalization of 11m for example - which are ideologically impossible for Trump/Miller to accept. More here: nbcnews.com/think/opinion/…

7/Time for a Pelosi speech insisting President act like one - decorum, respect for press/courts/opposition, rule of law, experts in positions of consequence, accepting findings of intel community, etc. Trump's unwillingness to adhere to American creed can't be tolerated any more.
8/Returning to this. WTF does the "country is full" mean? Apparently this is becoming a serious talking point for the President.
