Viewed through that lens, the SRE book suddenly makes a lot more sense.

It's a fundamental tension between AWS and Google to my mind. AWS handles customers as they are; Google tries to make customers better than they are.

The problem with the Google approach is that tone / messaging is critical, or reads as incredibly condescending--but if it works, the entire ecosystem improves.
