And now @nicolefv takes the keynote stage at the #GoogleNext19 Community Summit.

You probably know her from DORA, the Accelerate State of DevOps Report, at least one book, being awesome on Twitter, and tolerating my shitposting livetweets of her talks.
"Elite teams outperform low performers." I wonder who self-identifies as being on a low performing team? #GoogleNext19
The entire theme of @nicolefv's talk aligns perfectly with Google's cloud strategy. "If you do these things, you get better outcomes."

How does Google get there? They start making other companies think more Googley.

Viewed through that lens, the SRE book suddenly makes a lot more sense.

It's a fundamental tension between AWS and Google to my mind. AWS handles customers as they are; Google tries to make customers better than they are.

The problem with the Google approach is that tone / messaging is critical, or reads as incredibly condescending--but if it works, the entire ecosystem improves.

#GoogleNext19
Slight detour for @nicolefv to explain maturity models.

"They don't work."

She's right as a fix for things, but I've always found them pretty handy as quick diagnostics.

#GoogleNext19
"The most cautious, slow velocity environments incur the most downtime."

@nicolefv continues dropping uncomfortable truths. #GoogleNext19
Now talking about multi-cloud. I want to dive into the data on this one. I have loud angry thoughts... #GoogleNext19
"Outsourcing sucks. We know this."

Effectively nobody disagrees except for outsourcers. #GoogleNext19
I don't think I've ever seen someone shut down irrelevant questions during Q&A than @nicolefv. Incredible to watch. I want to be her when I grow up.
