I'd like to see a new tool--some kind of meter--that judges the levels of partisan outrage in America at any given moment and tells me whether Twitter will be to be too self-righteous that day for a swim.
Obviously, it's mostly around 11 these days, which is okay for a short Twitter bath, but if you see it going over 19, like yesterday--get out of Twitter, get your friends out, and do it fast.
The number would represent the risk of going in for a jolly Twitter jape and ending up a righteous prig. (This can happen even if you're a strong, experienced swimmer.)

I don't want to lose anyone else to self-righteous priggishness.
I see the number right near the "Notifications," maybe. Like: "SRP=14" And a warning. ("Self-Righteous Priggishness: Do *you* know the risks?") And then, since we're all adults, we can decide for ourselves how much of it we're willing to be exposed to. See my vision?
SRP rising, folks. Be careful out there.
