NEW: Michael Flynn's former biz associate, Bijan Kian - after successfully gaining access to records held by Flynn's onetime attorneys last week - has a status conference now scheduled for Friday, April 19 at 9AM. I'll be there for @CourthouseNews.

In a nutshell: Kian requested the extension, and the gov't agreed to it since they have much to sort through and he has a considerable amount of information to review after Judge Trenga denied Flynn's attys motion to quash subpoenaS for records.

The key info Kian is after in Covington and Burling + Flynn's former atty Kristen Verderame'S files: "important information regarding Flynn Intel Group registration under FARA" - at the heart of the indictment - and its "purported waiver of atty-client privilege."

This is something which Kian says may provide grounds for a motion to suppress, or in lay speak, it might give Kian a chance to ask the judge to exclude certain evidence from trial.

"The subpoenaed material may reveal additional grounds for pre-trial motions currently unknown to Mr. Rafiekian," he contends.
