Or, put less elegantly, urinating prostitutes is not what the Office of the President of the United States should have ever been (falsely) associated with. Comey and co are an absolute disgrace. Caused tremendous harm at home and abroad.
And how was the President supposed to negotiate nuclear disarmament etc where he is being investigated for TWO years for being a Russia puppet?
In a game of one-upmanship that is the international diplomacy, the President who could be impeached at any point was by definition in a weak position and therefore so was America. For TWO years.

For those who thinks the 'Steele dossier' is Russian disinformation should read this 2017 article by Paul Wood, the first recipient. "Several sources have told me that late last year Steele himself grew increasingly disillusioned with the FBI's progress."

The New Yorker that claims to "Fight Fake Stories with Real Ones" published an article entitled "General Chaos" in Feb 2017. Worth a close read as it shows the close co-ordination of top intelligence officials in smearing Gen Flynn with the GRU myth. (1) newyorker.com/magazine/2017/…
Clapper, of all people, adds his weight to a complete lie about Flynn inviting the GRU leadership to Washington AFTER the start of the Russia/Ukraine confrontation. Completely UNTRUE. Trip was arranged BEFORE the conflict and cancelled by Flynn. (2)

Rosecrans was a complex dude and a titan of his era, but at Chickamauga, his wild temperament got the best of him and he became one of the few men on Earth who could say, “I was outgeneraled by Braxton Bragg.” (It hurts just to type that. Let’s give Longstreet the credit.)
As his right wing crumbled, Rosecrans beat feet to Chattanooga, where he was helped from his horse “faint and ill, stunned by sudden calamity.” An observer said: “Chickamauga is as fatal a name in our history as Bull Run.”

Only someone forgot to tell George Thomas.

Alexei Nikolaevich was born #OnThisDay in 1904. He was the youngest child and only son of Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, and heir apparent to the throne of the Russian Empire.
His older sisters were the Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia. He was doted on by his parents and sisters and known as "Baby" in the family. He was later also affectionately referred to as Alyosha (Алёша).
Alexei was christened on 3 September 1904 in the chapel in Peterhof Palace. His principal godparents were his paternal grandmother and his great-uncle, Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich.

1. This is an even-tempered thread with some important context on the Hiroshima & Nagasaki bombings, but it is also missing several kinds of crucial context on where "unconditional surrender" came from & why it stayed U.S. policy to the bitter end
2. "Unconditional surrender" wasn't Truman's idea; it had been FDR's publicly declared policy for over 2 years of war, and had been followed to the bitter end with the Germans. Truman had been in office 4 months.
3. Truman certainly wasn't shy about making his own decisions, but there was a lot of policy inertia behind unconditional surrender. FDR had seen it as important to secure Stalin's confidence in US commitment. Fear of a separate peace has haunted wartime alliances for centuries.

Three days later, on August 9, a Fat Man plutonium implosion-type bomb was dropped by another B-29 on Nagasaki.
The Allies called for the unconditional surrender of the Imperial Japanese armed forces in the Potsdam Declaration on July 26, 1945—the alternative being "prompt and utter destruction". The Japanese ignored the ultimatum and the war continued.

The Warsaw Uprising started #OnThisDay in 1944.

It was a major World War II operation by the Polish underground resistance, led by the Home Army (Armia Krajowa), to liberate Warsaw from German occupation.
The uprising was the single largest military effort taken by any European resistance movement during World War II.
In 1944 Poland was occupied by Nazi Germany for almost 5 years. The Polish Home Army planned some form of rebellion against German forces. Germany was fighting a coalition of Allied powers, led by the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States.
