If you're a racist/bigot with even half a brain cell, you know modern politics won't let overt racists get anywhere. Bigots know they can only succeed through being subtle: biased narratives and dog whistles.

2⃣ If you are rich enough to avoid facing the adversity of being an ethnic minority, you can't use your ethnicity to downplay the seriousness of a threat to others who aren't so fortunate. 
3⃣Bigotry includes a biased focus on the negatives of minority groups.
e.g Those who pretend that the ideology of Islam is a bigger national security threat in America than the 2nd Amendment, despite the mass shootings that happen every month (c.15,000 gun deaths in 2018).
