Before you criticise the Minister for health and Aso rock over every healthcare issue, please note that primary healthcare is under the purview of your state governor. The FG will only work with interested states to drive their policies.

The FG funds Tertiary hospitals and FMCs

Year on year Governors budget millions for healthcare without meaningful impact on the citizens of their states except for few states like Lagos and Kaduna, most of these governors take undue advantage of the Federal tertiary institutions in their domain..

The have made their state totally reliant on the teaching hospitals and Federal medical centres thus neglecting primary healthcare centres and General Hospitals that are meant to be funded by the states.

Some of them don't even know where the hospitals are located..

The FG has rolled out the Basic Healthcare provision fund. The fund is meant to treat about 48m Nigerians freely, the cost of treatment for diseases such as Malaria, the common under 5 illnesses, normal delivery etc.

Kaduna state has keyed in, Osun state has also joined..

Osun has commenced the renovation several PHCs in preparation for the scheme. Kaduna is good to go but some incompetent governors are yet to subscribe to it. The same way they shunned UBEC funds and the school feeding program grant.

Continue to blame the Minister while the Governors and Commisioners for health in your respective states loot millions budgeted yearly for healthcare. They build gigantic houses for themselves but they cannot renovate a 2 - room PHC.
