BREAKING: Samuel Peter Caines, 42, of Paradise is facing eight charges in court in connection to a motor vehicle “snatch and scrap” investigation underway by the RNC.

According to court documents, Caines is facing two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, one from Paradise, one from St. John’s. The charges list two separate victims. @VOCMNEWS
Caines also faces three counts of trafficking stolen property, and one count of possessing stolen property. @VOCMNEWS
Caines is accused of making a false document, and accused of using a false document, in both cases a transaction receipt. A third victim is listed on the forgery charge, an employee of AIM Recycling in St. John’s. @VOCMNEWS
It’s alleged Caines was one of a group of individuals involved in stealing vehicles, and scrapping them for cash. Yesterday Bradley Squires, 29, and Glen Maher, 49, (both pictured) appeared in court on charges including theft of a motor vehicle.

Caines is due in court this afternoon.
He also has a co-accused, Melissa Dawe, AKA Melissa Caines. It’s believed they’re a married couple. She has been released pending a future court date. @VOCMNEWS

Meanwhile Glen Maher appeared this afternoon in court for a bail hearing. The Crown consented to Maher’s release on a $500 recognizance. He must live on Park Ave in Mt Pearl, under strict conditions. @VOCMNEWS
