When I was still young, I thought government had a solution to poverty, I gave up.
When I joined NGO, I thought NGOs had solutions to poverty, I gave up
Today I believe the solution to poverty is in inclusive business modeling, making the poor to be part of the value chains as producers and not consumers
Today I believe we have enough innovation for the rich, it's an easy target. The future of marketing and innovation is in BoP and societal marketing.
For example we have empty flats in Nairobi but the city has a shortage of housing. We just haven't thought enough about what is affordable housing for the poor who are actually the majority
today I challenge people in real estate and architectures to design an affordable decent house for the poor majority and that becomes disruptive innovation urban population

You may not know what self confidence means.
1. Lack of confidence can make you lose opportunities
2. Employers don't like people who are not confident about their skills and capabilities
3. Being good at something is not enough. The ability to stand out and tell people what you are good at is what makes the difference between you and other people
4. It is worth doing a self assessment and noting the things that have been pulling your self-esteem down. Know what you need to work on to improve your self image and your confidence

the term women empowerment has taken different shapes. Those who don't fight are seen not empowered
I don't mean women should cry babies in the society. An assertive woman can gain much control in leadership than aggressive one.
The power of aggression doesn't go to scale, it resonates with few
Aggression mobilizes more enemies it distracts you from things that matter, as an aggressive leader you will always be found unprepared

Before you brag that you just turned 18 and you can make decisions, think of the impact of your decision.
Kenya doesn't have money disbursed for people who are unable to take care of families
A proud teenage parent is a burden to the parents. Or to the relatives. That means that those people can not do any investment because they lack surplus on the budget. And that's a problem in Africa

On my recent trip back home, i decided to visit the areas that had gone through the anti-encroachment drive and interview the people in those areas. The stories we heard about families being forced onto the streets are, unfortunately, true.

Dad was detained in a #Texas detention center where @RAICESTEXAS consulted. Dad accepted a deportation to be quickly reunited w/ his infant child. However, the Dad was deported & NOT his child. The now 8-month-old baby has been in ORR custody for 4 months. #EndFamilySeparation
