Glencore’s ties with Russian oligarch Deripaska likely were never really cut. Glencore (whose CEO got a friendship medal from Putin) will control the PolyMet sulfide mine in Minnesota. So who will get the copper and nickel that comes from the mine? Guess.

Ask Governor @Tim_Walz if he has courage to stand up to these politicians and kick Putin friendly Glencore out of the environmentally catastrophic sulfide mining business in Minnesota
Yes there is a significant likelihood that we could destroy the ecosystem of Lake Superior mining copper and nickel for the Russians. Like any colonized country we have no control over our natural resources.

The Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee @RepJerryNadler knows what we need to do.
Now let’s do it.
Two things voters will laugh at in 2020:
1. An impeachment right before the 2020 election instead of now. That’s obviously playing politics.
2. Democrats who say he committed serious crimes in office but defend a decision not to impeach him. That’s even worse politics.
An exhaustive pre-impeachment investigation of all the many high crimes and misdemeanors that @realDonaldTrump has committed in office (allowing time for litigation over subpoenas) would take until at least summer 2024. That closely matches the schedule he also has in mind.

All @realDonaldTrump is doing is golfing, Tweeting and flipping his finger at subpoenas.
Without even an open impeachment inquiry the judicial process to enforce subpoenas will be slow, as it was (seven years) with the Fast and Furious investigation.
Congress needs to get going.
I am getting tired of hearing that @SpeakerPelosi is playing the “long game” on impeaching @realDonaldTrump .
So when will this “long game” wind up? January 2025?
And from the way he talks he might not even agree to that.

I’m a reporter for the ALI Principles of Government Ethics and was on the ALI ethics panel in Washington on Sunday, but I flew back home rather than attend this dinner. He’s in contempt.

I flew home for a much better attraction- my kids’ soccer games yesterday. If @SpeakerPelosi had promised to send the Sergeant at Arms to the ALI dinner (with handcuffs) to arrest the man who is in contempt of Congress, I might have skipped the soccer games to attend the dinner.
Still, watching my daughter score a goal in soccer was much more satisfying than the possibility of watching another Attorney General (I am old enough to remember Big John Mitchell in ‘74) get carted off to the slammer.
