And there's something else bothers me. This idea that David Cameron failed to understand Europe, I agree with that, but there's more to it.
Cameron failed to understand Europe, but he failed to understand his own country as well.
He didn't even understand people he'd been to school with.
What else didn't Cameron understand? Didn't understand Scotland, didn't understand Ireland, didn't understand the Conservative Party, didn't understand England.
Is it really so surprising that he didn't understand Europe AS WELL?
What you might ask is how did someone as ignorant as David Cameron ever come to be prime minister
And the answer to that is really quite unpleasant.
David Cameron was elected on pure snobbery. And that, i'm afraid, is what England is like.

Leadership candidates will say all sorts of things to get elected that goes straight out the window after.
The chances of anyone leaving Europe with "no deal" are about zero.
It's not going to happen. You can say that shit, but you can't dance to it.
A fairly small pocket of MPs want that, or think they do. But the vast majority, no.
Parliament has already proved willing to legislate to prevent it.

And it doesn't even end there because in the general election this autumn the SNP are going to put a new referendum in their manifesto.
Theresa May's resignation was only the first step.
The next step is that the Tories have to realise that pursuing Brexit any further will destroy the country
Nobody can "deliver Brexit"

But what you can do is destroy the country in the attempt.

So, aiming to get a new leader before summer recess.

Problems for the new Tory leader

1. DUP agreement expires at summer recess

2. New Queen's speech in September

3. Brexit extension expires October 31st
The Tories still having no majority, and no chance of approving any withdrawal agreement, they will be forced into a general election.
The only manifesto that can win an election is a referendum to revoke Article 50.
I'm going to carry on that the rest of what I said turns out to be true as well.

After sacking Theresa May the Tories abandon Brexit, and win a general election to that effect some time in the autumn.

And having lost two general elections, Jeremy Corbyn is finally sacked.

So let’s start w/ the good news. One year in, 150k privacy complaints have been made under Europe’s #privacy rules, a marked increase vs previous years. But (and it’s a big but) very few companies have been fined, most notably @google in France w/ its €50m penalty
That doesn’t mean fines = success. It’s fair to say that companies now take data protection more seriously, and that national EU regulators *are* building cases against potential abuse.

Come on, Dave! You broke it, you own it. If nothing else, stick your head above the parapet and get your tuppenny-worth in, like John Major, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown have.

Lies may have won the referendum, but the fact that it was there to be won at all... that’s all on you!
It would be a gutsy, gutsy move, but just imagine if you were to come forward and say:

“I was wrong. I was wrong to hold a referendum about something I knew so little about. I was wrong to hold it without planning for the consequences of both outcomes. I apologise unreservedly.”
