@gaywonk For example, CNN has covered that Fox Business smear clip of Nancy Pelosi every hour for the last four hours. The hosts are pointing out that it's garbage, but the discussion over this is still dominating the news cycle. 
Back in 2010, @SimonMaloy coined the term "The Fox Cycle" to describe how bogus right-wing attacks made their way to mainstream news outlets through the network. At the time, it usually took a few days to a week for this to play out. mediamatters.org/research/2010/…
But Trump watches and tweets about Fox all the time, and his tweets are tweeted as intrinsically newsworthy by the rest of the press, so we keep ending up with news cycles build around the network's disinformation.
