#NetSci2019 afterthoughts (thread)

Topics discussed were diverse & balanced. Lots of theories, methods, applications in various domains. I greatly enjoyed diversity & balance. People also seemed enjoying interactions with folks from other disciplines. This is @2019netsci. (1/5)
I witnessed at many scenes that researchers (both established and young) actively challenged well established views/assumptions/research questions to move NetSci to novel directions. Thanks to this, I felt no stagnation of NetSci as a field. (2/5)
Data are becoming very rich w/ temporal changes of topologies and states, so it became natural to look at coevolution of dynamics "of"/"on" networks together (often w/o saying so). Great to see adaptive networks became obvious. Maybe it's time we no longer need that phrase. (3/5)
There was an implicit yet consistent conference theme to "make the world a better place." This is a refreshing reminder for me, as confs often tend to focus too much on making their *discipline* better. I feel I was taught on this point by younger generations, so thanks. (4/5)
.@juniperlov was awesome. (5/5)
