New Review-ish Paper w/ @jarretcrawford

Basic idea: If we study prejudice against just a few target groups we will miss out on interesting patterns

osf.io/2kcdf/
For example, some things might predict greater prejudice towards a lot of groups, whereas other things might predict prejudice towards just some groups
More groups also lets us study how different (perceived) groups characteristics are associated with prejuidce
Q: What groups should you include in your studies?

A: Ideally, a representative sample although this is not always possible

(bold groups are group that we think are more often studied in social-psychology research)
Q: But what if I only want to study one kind of prejudice?

A: That is totally cool. A lot of valuable research has done this and a lot of valuable research will continue to do this. Just please constrain your conclusions appropriately.
Q: But if I study all of those groups my study will be very long?

A: Yes. We often have to use abbreviated measures. This is a downside. One possible design is to first use lots of groups and then focus more narrowly after you outline the contrours of the effect.
Lots of room for future work, including testing if prejudice is experienced similarly across groups (I expect not) or how some prejudices might be in the service of moral ends.
And although we primarily reviewed our work, we take liberal inspiration from work by @amyjccuddy, Fiske, Crandall, and Koch who all have been doing the "many groups" thing longer and better than us.
