Republicans were banning abortion in those states before yesterday and @JoeBiden was still supporting the Hyde Amendment. Until that went over horribly when his campaign said as much. Then tonight, he reverses because of the GOP attacks on abortion rights? cnn.it/2IsgQnm
I’d much rather Biden reverse his position on Hyde than remain hardheaded and stay in support of it. I’ll take it, certainly, but I need him to do more. I hoped for some more introspection. “I realized that I had this wrong” would have been a good start. nyti.ms/2Z93tzh
I hope that voters exercise more critical thinking about these policy reversals than some of the candidates are doing. A man or woman reading off a piece of paper does not always represent a fundamental change in values. Any sports fan seeing a player apologize can tell you that.
