More than 24 hours have passed since a militant Adil Dass alias Hamas Bhai affiliated with Islamist State's local unit [Wilayah Hind] in #Kashmir was shot dead by suspected pro-Pakistan militants in Bijbehara south Kashmir. Thread.
The allegations that Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba gunmen shot Adil Dass and snatched his weapon have not been rebutted officially by any of these outfits. Though a morphed tweet imahge of Riyaz Naikoo is doing rounds which is nothing but fake.
Telegram channels linked to Islamic State have released two videos in which a militant Khateeb Dass, also from Bijbehara, narrates the sequences of events that led to the killing of Adil Dar. He categorically blames Hizb & LeT for Adil's killing.
Khateeb claims three Hizb & LeT militants who pictures he shows on a mobile phone cheated Adil Dass by falsely pledging allegiance to the IS. He claims the plan to kill Adil was prepared in advance & pledging allegiance was part of the plan.
According to Khateeb's account, the trio fired at Adil and another IS militant Turrab when they were offering prayers. He claims Adil was killed on the spot and Turrab managed to flee and it was he who narrated the story to his aides.
The case of Arif, who was apprehended by army and hospitalised for bullet injury, is just curious. Khateeb claims he too was part of conspiracy against Adil and was hit accidentally by his own. Arif hasn't issued his statement yet.
By all accounts and circumstantial evidence, it is clear that pro-Pakistan militants indeed shot dead an IS militant in #Kashmir. We can say that this is the 1ST fratricidal killing in new age militancy of Kashmir.
The Bijbehara killing only substantiates jihadists' claims that pro-Pakistan militants hound, harass, thrash and conspire against them for rejecting Pakistan-sponsored militancy in #Kashmir. End.
