2. Judge Furman is allowing an attorney who has left DOJ (Brett Shumate) and an attorney who has left DOJ's Civil Division (Alice LaCour) to withdraw from #CitizenshipQuestion lawsuits in NY.
3. But Judge Furman says every other DOJ attorney who wants to withdraw from #CitizenshipQuestion cases in NY has to submit signed & sworn affidavit that:

- provides "satisfactory reasons" for leaving at this stage of litigation
- confirms they'll comply with sanctions motions

I did find fewer career DOJ attorney names listed in recent filings for Maryland cases after President Trump's July 3 tweets.

NEW: Trump administration is continuing to look for ways to get a #CitizenshipQuestion on #2020Census, Justice Department attorneys confirm in court filing to U.S. District Judge George Hazel of Maryland. Filing doesn't provide new details about how admin plans to move forward👇
2. In short, DOJ attorneys are saying that while #CitizenshipQuestion is still blocked from #2020Census, Trump admin is not ready to give up yet. As far as we know according to DOJ/Commerce statements earlier this week, printing without Q still happening

3. Remember DOJ was only expected to tell Judge Hazel today whether Trump admin is stopping its efforts to add #CitizenshipQuestion. Since it's not, Hazel is now preparing to move ahead with reconsidering discrimination & conspiracy allegations in previously filed lawsuits.

In the CQ case, Roberts *did* find the Voting Rights Act justification for adding the question to be pretextual. But he also wrote that Commerce’s decision to add it was supported by evidence, and was not arbitrary and capricious under the APA.
In a ‘help me help you’ moment, it seems Roberts purposely left the door open for the Trump Admin. to allow him to let the question be added. When it is, it will be challenged, and we will undoubtedly do much of this over again.

As one who attended Catholic grade school all 6 years, I had the Bible and Jesus' words drilled into my brain. What the zealot "Christians" are espousing as religious values on people who are "different" than you - immigrants, LGBTQ, etc. - is a far departure from The Word.
