I am finding the emergence of Swinson & Johnson as leaders of parties now unapologetically committed to rival positions on the Brexit debate almost as much as a relief as I do the rain after the hellish heat. At least now the battle lines are clearly drawn. We know where we are.
(Not quite sure where that leaves Labour, of course...)
I am simplistic enough - after all the confused alarms of struggle and fight that have characterised the past three years - to welcome clearly drawn battle-lines.
If there's to be a general election before 31 October, and the Lib Dems were to commit to revoking Article 50, then Remainers who have accepted the referendum result would finally have a way open to them to reverse it democratically.
Equally, a Conservative victory would leave opponents of Brexit once and for all with no possibility of a democratic bolt-hole.
What a titanic struggle it promises to be!
