1. First, Trump insists NHS pays premium prices for US drugs (currently, thanks its huge buying power, NHS can negotiate reasonable prices - a fact Trump cannot stand).

3. Next, he insists on easier access to lucrative, private, elective contracts whereby private US companies deliver NHS cataract, hip, knee ops etc - at a premium. ’NHS’ services in name only - wholly delivered by private hands.

5. If lucrative contracts are cherrypicked by US healthcare, only the vital yet loss-making parts of our service - urgent and emergency services - will be left untouched. Who wants to run an ED if they can’t make megabucks from it?
6. Welcome to your two-tier NHS. A rump of publicly-funded and NHS-delivered A&Es and urgent care services. The rest? NHS in name only. Taxpayer-funded, sure. But *delivered* by private, profit-driven companies. Private doctors. Private nurses. Working not for you but for profit.
7. Any bets on how long it would take Johnson to insist we take out private insurance for our elective 'NHS' care? Answer: just as soon as the electoral maths make him think he can get away with it.
