Donald Trump and the Republican Party, amplified by Fox News and a universe of stations and websites, have told their base there’s a life-or-death, live war going on in the country. Their supporters believe them and are carrying out that war.
Some of the politicians hide behind rhetoric and the idea that their voters know what’s strategy and what isn’t, but for every person who knows it’s a game there are five more who don’t and five more who pick up their guns. This is terrorism, plain and simple. Terrorism.
If you sit with it, if you really look it in the face and trace the history and trajectory of it, this white supremacist terrorism is a mirror-image of the Islamic terrorism these people have been decrying for years. They’ve birthed their own murderous movement.
