Notice the stampede of invisible American citizens eager to reclaim jobs undocumented immigrants “stole” from them outside the Koch Foods plant in Forest, Mississippi.

Koch had to stop operations in the town after last week’s #ICEraids, bc they don’t have enough employees now.

Communities in Mississippi are on edge after 700 immigrants were arrested in #ICEraids last week, with reports of more to follow. Latest for @guardian:

Clarification: Koch cut back on operations in the area after a raid in the plant in neighboring Morton 10 miles away, where many immigrants from Forest worked; even immigrants who were not taken are afraid to return to work at either the Forest or Morton plants.

People, & some in national media, keep citing Trump’s “increasingly divisive rhetoric” to explain their moves toward being more critical of him. But this is rests on a fallacy: That Trump is somehow more divisive now than he was on June 26, 2015. Let’s stroll down memory lane. 1/

This tactic of attributing precise descriptions of Trump’s follies to women is like if Obama supporters had decided to spend 2012 shouting,
“Mitt Romney is a black man doing black man things & giving out free healthcare & he shouldn’t be within 10 miles of the Oval Office!”
Kamala Harris does say Russia exploits American hate+racism for its own gain. As I reported her saying last year:

“Check it out: The Russians know racism & other forms of hate have always been America's Achilles heel & we need to deal with that weakness.”

She was right, of course. We’ve known for a while that Russia ran ads in 2016 aimed stoking white racial anxiety/outright racism, and also ran ads trying to stoke anger & rage black Americans as well over injustice.

06/01/2019 - 78 years ago today, the longest-serving #UnitedStates #President, #Franklin D. #Roosevelt (#FDR) addressed the 77th #Congress with his "#Four #Freedoms" speech with the intent to shift #US #foreign #policy from that of #neutrality to #interventionist.
#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
