This is OUTRAGEOUS but also entirely predictable. Israel has been discriminating against US citizens-especially Palestinian Americans- for a long time. Now they are even doing this to our ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES.
Members of Congress have also historically enabled this, like when then Senator Boxer tried to write an exception into law allowing Israel to discriminate against US citizens. Congress needs to take a stand and speak up. Enough is enough.

In 2013, after many entry denials to US citizens, 16 US reps wrote to the Israel embassy concerned with the discrimination. Two of the signers, Rep. Ellison/Conyers, are the immediate predecessors of Rep. Tlaib/Omar who are being denied & discriminated against by Israel today!!!
The Department of State, prior to the administration of the White Supremacist in Chief, expressed its concern over Israel’s discriminatory practice.

Just days ago Democratic Members of Congress led by @LeaderHoyer visited Israel & got the full @AIPAC propaganda tour, cheered on Netanyahu, and gave him a pass for racism. Today Netanyahu's government is discriminating against Hoyer's colleagues; two bold women of color.
In truth, Israel's racist discrimination against Palestinians isn't new & Palestinians are constantly denied return to and freedom of movement in their homeland. But this episode underscores extent of Congress' complicity in enabling racism now targeting their own colleagues.

This is a position many Palestinians are forced into by Israel; comply w/ Israel's thought policing or you will never be allowed to go home or see your family again.

The Israeli state uses the most personal and precious things against you as political leverage. It is vicious.
Israel basically told the Congresswoman you can either keep your human right to free expression or be allowed to enter your homeland visit your family. Not both. This isn't magnanimity folks, it is mafioso.
Countless Palestinians are put in this position every day, where every word they utter or post on social media, every phone number stored in their phone, every thought they have ever expressed about freedom, may be used against them to deny them access to home and family.

On Friday, Israeli military snipers killed 2 Palestinian protestors in Gaza and wounded 116 others, of them 39 children, four women, four paramedics, and one journalist. 35 of those injured were wounded by live fire, 32 by tear gas canisters
Raed, who was 19, was shot in the stomach. He was already on crutches at the time because he was previously shot while demonstrating a week prior. He succumbed to his woulds on Friday.
Khader, 28, a volunteer paramedic, was wounded as he was evacuating casualties in the east of Middle Gaza district.

Are Democratic leaders like @SpeakerPelosi and others going to continue to speak at the @AIPAC conference while the org is heavily backed by such purveyors of anti-Muslim racism targeting their own party members and the Muslim community?

Apparently it’s official: #Israel to prevent the entry of @IlhanMN and @RashidaTlaib for their tour of #Palestine next week. Beyond disappointment at not being able to talk to them about #Gaza, a few thoughts.
1/ The very basic fact that Israel can prevent American congresswomen from touring the Palestinian territories is all the evidence one needs to show that Palestinians are living in a one-state reality under absolute Israeli control and sovereignty.
2/ This decision is excused using accusations of antisemitism and security. To be clear, this is about nothing other than shutting down freedom of expression and policing political opinion; only the right kind of American, with the right kind of politics, can get in.
