This is a position many Palestinians are forced into by Israel; comply w/ Israel's thought policing or you will never be allowed to go home or see your family again.

Israel basically told the Congresswoman you can either keep your human right to free expression or be allowed to enter your homeland visit your family. Not both. This isn't magnanimity folks, it is mafioso.
Countless Palestinians are put in this position every day, where every word they utter or post on social media, every phone number stored in their phone, every thought they have ever expressed about freedom, may be used against them to deny them access to home and family.
This episode also sums up the way Israel and Zionism and their supporters in the West have view Palestinians; as partial human beings *at best*, never entitled to the full spectrum of human and political rights they claim for themselves.
It also underscores how Israel sees Palestinians regardless of citizenship or even role in govt. It doesn't matter if you are a Palestinian-American or an EU citizen, or even in Congress, at the end of the day, you are still a Palestinian and to them that means sub-human.
This is what the UN Declaration of Human Rights, which Israel is a party to but constantly fails to uphold, says in articles 12 and 13 and 17,18 and 19.
