2) quite simply Johnson cannot be trusted, and has full control of the date, so any date he agrees to is not worth the paper it's written on, therefore no agreements can be taken as read, no deals agreed because there is no trust
3) Secondly, it is clearly irresponsible to risk the distraction of an election which the public does not want, taking place 2 weeks before we could crash out

4) thirdly, the 31st October for leaving is not set in stone or some hallowed commandment.
The only damage if we leave on 1st November instead of 31st October is to Johnson's reputation, thus any damage is a) a price worth paying to save the country and b) would be hard to spot
