Journalists: Anyone from any of these firms with talking points on Ukraine, needs to be ID'd in your reporting as working for a current or former AGENT OF A FOREIGN POWER, specifically, Ukraine.
Ditto for Russian FARA firms in my reply to this tweet.
If you use a person from one of these firms as a source on any story relating to Ukraine OR Russia, DISCLOSE THAT FACT.
disclose, disclose, disclose.
For anyone you use as a source: on the record or off: check their current and former FARA connections.
If they are being quoted, DISCLOSE THEIR FARA CONNECTIONS.

Search their firm, search their name, and search companies they have worked for in the past.
Know what you are dealing with.
FARAs are everywhere.
Also: learn to use the lobbying disclosure act database. Do the same thing there.

1.) If this "unmasking of Flynn" aspect interests you, then read on. If it doesn't - then skip this thread.

In the *specific* example of Flynn, there was no "unmasking". I'll explain why.
2.) The official *media* account of how the intelligence community gained the transcript of National Sec. Adviser Michael Flynn talking to Ambassador Sergey Kisliyak on December 29th, 2016, surrounds “incidental collection” as a result of contact w/ an agent of a foreign power.
3.) "incidental collection"... Meaning the Flynn call was picked up as the U.S. intelligence apparatus was conducting surveillance on Russian Ambassador Kisliyak.

These new charges could potentially tie Paul Manafort's alleged crimes to the change the Trump campaign made to the GOP platform in 2016 (softening language about arming Ukraine to defend against Russia).

That was the only change to the GOP platform requested by team Trump.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Paul Manafort was caught offering to give Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska ‘private briefings’ on the 2016 Trump campaign. Manafort was deeply in debt to Deripaska, a key Putin ally.

2. The only change to the GOP party platform made by the Trump campaign was a reversal on the GOP's plan to insert language calling for the US to provide lethal defensive weapons to Ukraine.

Paul Manafort was the campaign manager during the RNC, when this all took place.
