ADJOURNMENT MOTION

AYES: 289
NOES: 306
Maj: 17

Parliament isn’t going on recess for Conservative Party Conference.

A seventh defeat in a row for Boris Johnson.
When the government can’t even get time off for its own party conference you know it’s stuffed.
Have to say (and the govt only has itself to blame) it’s a shame for the Tory activists. Everyone is talking about taking the high ground. I wonder if a good way of starting would have been allowing the Tories to have their conf for the sake of a few days of parliamentary time.
CORRECTION: it is in fact the *eighth* defeat for Boris Johnson in Parliament. My apologies.
