So what to make of yesterday?

As a toe-dip in the swimming-pool of blame, it just highlights how nasty the politics of a no-deal would be

At same time, striking how confected it all felt/was: Points to this still being Plan B?
That said, it has pretty much killed off the last chances of a deal before 31 October: if No.10 really wanted a deal by then (or even a potential of one), why crash the bus now?
Either it's an effort to double-down on the "they forced us to extend" strategy (remember at least two No.10 people briefed yesterday)

Or it's a reflection of making-it-up-as-we-go-along
Note that this isn't being led by PM or Ministers, so there isn't an impression that this is a unified strategy

Main Q: are we in the bunker yet?
