There are many arguments *against* using federal carrots & sticks to get private, religious institutions to comply with federal standards. Far too often, however, such arguments boil down to "we would like to keep discriminating against X group and resent you telling us to stop."
Correction: It was Betsy DeVos's brother, Erik Prince, who is the HIllsdale grad...along with a ton of other influential people in the conservative movement and GOP.
